Description
Recioto is one of Italy's greatest red wines and comes from the Valpolicella region. What distinguishes it from standard Valpolicella is that the grapes are half air-dried on straw mats prior to pressing in order to concentrate the flavours and sugars. If the fermentation is allowed to go on to the bitter end, the resulting dry wine is what's known as Amarone.

Vignetti di Jago is a fabulous example of this once rare classic, now happily experiencing a spirited revival of fortune. It comes from the area around Jago, in the heart of the Valpolicella Classico zone on dry-walled terraces in the Negrar hills at an altitude of 200-250 metres.

Perfectly structured, velvety-smooth, dense black cherry, prunes & sweet spice flavours. Traditionally served with game, grilled and braised meats and full-flavoured mature cheeses.
